Poor quaity of wires, makes these prone to break at cold temps.

I have a handful of these for charging and maintaining powersports batteries. I have used these a few times to charge batteries on larger vehicles as well. For the most part, the work well. Only issue I'd call out is the thinness and lack of flexibility of the wires. These have very thin wires, so if you use these in the cold, the wires lose flexibility and are very prone to breaking. Would probably try another brand, or at least look very carefully at the quality of the wires to compare against other brands before buying again.

Poor quality

This charger worked great for just over one year. Then, the lead wires started disintigrating. The coating on the wires began crumbling and then the wires broke off at points where they could no longer be reconnected. It was always stored and used indoors. Total garbage.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Good charger with bad wires.

Used unit not more than 10 times and wires broke off, because of insulation getting hard and do not bend just brake with outdoor temperature below plus 10 C. And mot people would just trow it away.

Melted!

I sent NOCO pictures of how my unit became too hot to touch and began to melt. This is the NOCO customer service response to the pictures: "No, they do not worry us as our units are working as designed if that happens. The fire suppressants and non combustable housing are made to melt like that if there is an issue with them. If they are getting hot to the point of "melting", there is an issue with the charger, but that reaction is exactly as designed to meet the safety regulations we have for our products."

No, I do not recommend this product.

This is garbage at best

I bought this charger and when I connected it to my YTZ12S battery I was getting 3 red flashes and then 3 amber flashes. The instructions state that the charger will not charge this battery. This is labelled as a motorcycle battery charger and the specs of the battery are well within the chargers specs.

Q: What’s the best option to charge a small dirt bike battery? It’s a 12v lithium ion that needs to be charged at a maximum of 14.4V - 3.0A. Thanks

  • A: The G1100 is not designed, nor suited to charge lithium batteries. You need something like the TENERGY smart charger for NiMH/NiCd 6V-12V Battery Packs. The G series of chargers are GREAT for all other battery types.

Q: Can this charger be configured to automatically start charging when power is connected? I park in a lot with an IPLC outlet, so I need something that will start by itself when power delivery is delayed or interrupted.

Q: Will this desulphate 12v SLA from UPS Hi will this desulphate a 12v SLA battery from my APC UPS? How long will it take? Is there an indicator? How is it activated with the charger?

  • A: The G750 model does not have desulphation, you would need to move up to any of our larger models that all do have desulfation. The process is completely automatic and the unit doe not indicate if it is in desulfation.

Q: Would this work well on a booster pack? Would this work with a Motomaster 1000 booster pack?

2 Answers
  • A: Yes. You'll need to purchase the optional 12V Accessory Lead if you want to charge through the booster pack's 12V outlet. Of, if you intend to connect to the booster pack clamps, make sure you connect to the jaw with the wire attachment and the booster pack must be left in the ON position.

Q: The operation temperature is 0 to 40 degrees for the G750. How can I use this during the winter when we need a charger>??????

2 Answers
  • A: I see that it says ambient temperature 0 C to +40 C. I have been using the unit in temps as low as -24 C to maintain a motorcycle battery with no issues. The temp could have more to do with the rate in which a cold battery will charge. The colder it gets, the more the molecular action of the batteries slow down. The battery will charge but not as quickly as when the temps are 30 C.
