The exhaust wasn't really the one we wanted

The pipe we got wasn't the right one. ( As they didn't have the right pipe in stock) We were hoping we could make it work. But when we got home, it just wouldn't fit, so we couldn't use the pipe we got.

Q: Is the OD size mentioned in the product description applicable to the larger end or the smaller end of the pipe ?

A: I am sure it refers to the larger end. That is so one can measure the existing pipe and make sure the extension fits over it.
