Compact. hides behind rearview mirror - I haven't reviewed any footage since I put it up, and the 32Gb SD card is still going, since Aug 17, or it records over itself!?!...

Great Dash Cam

This is an easy to set up dash cam, with the exception of formating the sd card. It would have been very simple to add the instructions to the manual. It would also have been great if a second sticky pad had of been included for those ( like me ) choose to put the camera in a different spot on the windshield. The camera is very simple to use, records as my car is started. The video's are clear and easy to view on the app on my pc, or can be viewed with a micro sd converter card. I highly recommend this camera for those who want simple and easy to use, without having to put an app on your phone. This camera does not use wifi in able to operate it.

Q: does it come with a suction cup mount and a card

  • A: I bought the 222 model today. It came with a 32 gb sd card but no suction cup mount and a cardboard cover for the camera's mounting port instead of a plastic one that fits it properly. The 122 model I bought just a week ago came with the 32 gb sd card, a suction cup mount, and a proper plastic cover for the mounting port. They're getting chintzy!

  • A: You can try the USB slot, I did not work in my 2018 Nissan Murano. If there isn't a lighter spot, it should work through the USB port. Good luck

  • A: Not that I'm aware. I plugged mine in with a USB and that's it. It records, I have not had to review anything fortunately but pretty sure I could just take the USB out and plug into pc to review. I've had mine about 10 months now.

Q: If it’s plugged in all the time will it drain the car battery ?

1 Answer
  • A: Hello, The Series 2 Cameras have an internal lithium ion battery for emergency uses, such as the loss of power during an incident. This will allow the camera to continue recording to the end of the clip before switching off. This internal battery has around 10-15 minutes of battery life. However with the Rear Camera added, the battery life is drastically reduced due to the additional power draw. This is usually 1-3 minutes if fully charged. The cameras are designed to always be connected to power when in use. This can be a Cigarette Lighter Cable, or a Hard Wire Kit. If you're using the Cigarette Lighter Cable and the camera stays on 24/7, even when the car is off, then your cigarette lighter socket is 'Permanently Live'. This means it's always supplying electricity to the camera. If this is the case, we would recommend removing the Cigarette Lighter Cable from the socket after every journey, or it could drain your car's battery. If you intend on using Parking Mode on your camera, then we'd instead recommend using a Hard Wire Kit, not the Cigarette Lighter Cable. The Hard Wire Kit will allow the camera to draw nominal current from the car's battery, preventing the cam's battery from being drained. The Hard Wire Kit has an in-built voltage cut off which protects the car's battery from being drained below 11.2V. We'd recommend using a Permanent Live fuse with Parking Mode enabled.

Q: how long this cam can work without plug in?

1 Answer
  • A: Hello Will. The Dash Cam has a max internal battery life of 15 mins. We recommend powering the Dash Cam at all times via the 12/24V adapter, or hardwired in to the fuse box using the Nextbase Hardwire Kit. The internal battery is only needed in the event of an accident where power fails and for the use of Intelligent Parking Mode. Thanks, Nextbase
