Barely used it. Took steps to never push it. It quit and now 2 of the lights flash and doesnt work. Guess im going Dewalt.

Great Grinder

Waited a nice while for this to go on sale, glad I caught the sale. Ended up buying the display model because all stock was sold out. Guess I wasn't the only one waiting for a sale. This pairs great with the 20 volt drill plus 2 batteries i got, also on sale at the time, about this time last year ! Grinder is well balanced (because of its long handle), has a very comfortable handle grip, the trigger is easy to engage where ever that working hand is, good torque, good break, and most importantly no more extension cords.

Misleading Product Infor @Canadian Tire's Benefit

Bought this grinder for my father to use on our farm a few years ago. Grinder works with the 20V battery that comes with the grinder and the battery can be recharged with the charger that also comes with the grinder. However, the grinder draws a lot of power so we were having to recharge the one battery and wait for it to charge to be able to continue using the tool. I bought the two pack of the 20V/40V batteries recommended on the Canadian Tire website for this tool. While the batteries appear to run the tool, the combo volt batteries cannot be recharged using the charger that comes with the tool. When I talked with MAXIMUM agents, they recognized the gap in the info on the web page for the grinder and indicated that some compensation appeared to be appropriate to provide us with the proper charger for the combo batteries. However, after many e-mails and phone calls both with MAXIMUM and MECNAIR (warranty) agents, and while they recognize the misleading/incomplete information on the website regarding the incompatibility between the charger that comes with the tool and the recommended 20V/40V replacement batteries, they have yet to accommodate us with the proper charger - other than telling us that we would have to spend more money (~$100) to buy a new charger - profitable for Canadian Tire and inconsiderate for its customers. FOLLOW-UP: following the Aug. 8, 2026 reply from "WeMakeIt-GottaKnow" to my review of the MAXIMUM 20V Max Brushless Cordless Angle Grinder/Cut-Off Tool, after waiting for several days, Canadian Tire and MAXIMUM failed to "connect with (me) directly and arrange to send you the correct charger for the 20V/40V batteries", so I called Canadian Tire Customer Support. On my first attempt, I was transferred to a MECNAIR rep who told me it wasn't their concern as it wasn't a warranty issue, and on my second attempt about a week later, the Canadian Tire Customer Support rep told me that they have no direct relationship or oversight of the review content posted by WeMakeIt-GottaKnow and as such, were not obligated to follow-through on any statements or commitments made by WeMakeIt-GottaKnow. In the end, the only thing that Canadian Tire Customer Support could offer was an apology for the inaccuracies on the product website, the frustration in trying to resolve the problem, and store credit equal to just over half of the cost of the required battery charger. Overall, this has been yet another frustrating encounter with Canadian Tire and its extremely poor level of customer support.

Q: Does the grinder include a flange to be able to use 7/8" arbor discs e.g. MAXIMUM Metal Grinding Wheel, Type 27?

  • A: No, there is no additional accessory to accommodate disks for a 7/8" arbor. It will only take 5/8" arbor discs.
