Extremely Quiet for a compressor.

Just Purchased this unit and was surprised it is pretty much ready to run out of the box, just have to spin on the air filters. followed the instruction manual 30 minute break in and then tested it out found that fill time was aprox 4.5 minutes from 0 to 150psi and catch up time from aprox 90psi cut in to 150 cutout was pretty quick didnt time that, but would say roughly a minute. very quiet can easily work beside unit with it running. compared to the dewalt 15 gallon 225psi compressor that i previously had this unit is about 3 times quieter and definitely quicker. just dosnt have the high pressure cut out. havent used it much but if i have any issues will update review. very easy to roll around and the storage hooks on unit are super handy. unit also dosnt vibrate much which helps with the whisper tech. compressor heads do get quite hot when under load which is to be expected. so far quite impressed.

Long Distance Warranty Repair

Shortly after buying it, the overpressure relief valve would open too quickly. I needed to drive 40km to repair shop to diagnose that the valve was faulty (kind of obvious) and then order replacement part. Another 40km home. Then another 40km to the shop once they had the valve and another 40km home. Sure the repair was under warranty, but I had to drive 160km (100 miles) and my time to get it fixed. So far the product works fine and it is relatively quiet. One thing that is required is a break in period. I did not expect that and while it is in the manual, it would be helpful to have a tag stating “break in required see manual” and on front of manual in big bold letters state the same.

Q: Has anyone used this compressor to blowout irrigation lines?

  • A: Yes I use mine to empty my irrigation lines. I turn pressure down to about 40 psi. I use about a full tank of air to empty lines in each zone. I take my time and let the compressor cool down between the zones to not overheat. I have blown out my lines for 2 seasons now. It works great.

  • A: You can definitly leave the compressor "full", or at maximim pressure. It will likely drop in pressure if the unit is not plugged in, but it's totaly safe to leave it as is after use. If the motor is humming, but not actually running, then that is abnormal and should be looked into further.

Q: At what pressure should this compressor stop at? Mine keeps running and does not shut off, pressure was up to 160 PSI before i shut it off manually.

  • A: Air compressors typically have an adjustable shut off. One of guages should be for that purpose. Check manual on how to change/adjust its pressure regulator.

Q: Considering a Maximum 15 gallon quiet compressor. What is the SCFM on this unit? Plan to use it at about 90 to 100PSI.

  • A: The label on the tank says 4 CFM at 90 psi. I consider the 5cfm at 40 psi irrelevant. It doesn't struggle to keep up under steady frequent use.

Q: I bought this compressor yesterday. It cuts out at 150 psi but when the pressure drops to 120 psi, it tries to start the motor and it just Hums and wont do anything. What could be wrong.
