Overheats after 5 minutes

I bought it but didn’t use it for two years. It overheats after 5 minutes and you have to wait an hour for it to cool down and use again. Im not putting any pressure on it so that’s not the cause. I probably can’t return it to CDN Tire, so I’m screwed.

A: Hello McClusky! This model has a 5-year warranty. There is a Lock-On switch that will allow continuous use. To switch it off, just release the on/off switch. This tool is also a variable speed model. The speed will increase as you turn the switch to a higher number and decreases at a lower number. Whatever speed setting the tool is put on, should stay in place throughout use. Product manual also attached for your review. -DestyneeE

A: Yes, this machine can be used to fix scratches as well as to buff/polish your car body. However, you need to be careful because this is a rotary polisher, not a dual action (orbital) polisher. It is easy to burn your car paint if you don't use it properly. I recommend you to do more researches about rotary polisher vs orbital polisher before you start using them.
