I've used these on multiple stands for the last 3 years, the biggest pro I see is there is enough room for your large winter boots and your not competing with the tree like normal climbing sticks, so climbing is easy.

[Employee of canadiantire-ca] i bought these as a cheaper alternative to climbing sticks and they work great, they don’t fold up quite as small but you can pack them together in a small bundle for carrying, only take a few minutes to set up and work great
