Very disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had Weingarten assemble the plow but when I went to attach it to my mower it just didn't fit. Someone from Weingarten then came out to our home with a drill and widen holes etc. just to get it to attach. The control which allows you to raise and lower the blade doesn't work and the bolt keeps sticking, preventing the blade from being lower. I have to physically push the bolt out using a steel rod and a hammer. Lastly, the plow is basically useless if there's more than 6" of snow. The mower just doesn't have the horsepower and even with ice chains on the tires they just spin when trying to move anything deeper. I'm honestly surprised that Cub Cadet even sells this accessory given its ineffectiveness and what seems to be widespread manufacturing defects.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I have had mine for about five winters now. The first winter , it held up well but after that the handle and attachment the blade attached to deteriorated to the point that it was basically worthless. The blade itself is fine and does a nice job but the assembly where the blade attaches could be expediently improved.
Handle needs to be of heavier material.

A: Thank you for your question. Yes the "skid shoes" at the ends of the blade are adjustable and may be raised for close work on smooth surfaces or lowered to raise the blade for work on rough or uneven areas.

A: The 60-1870 MTD 46 inch dozer blade will fit onto a Cub Cadet XT1 series lawn tractor. However, it is very important to note that it has to be the new version of the dozer blade, identified by MTD manufacturer number 19A30017OEM, which has only been available since October 2015. The new version includes brackets that allow it to fit onto a Cub Cadet XT1 tractor. The previous version of the 60-1870 dozer blade, identified by MTD manufacturer number OEM-190-833 will not fit as it does not include the new brackets. However, the OEM-190-833 version will fit onto other current MTD brands of lawn tractors.

Q: Will this blade actually fit a Husqvarna lawn tractor?? Local Canadian Tire sold me this blade along with a Husqvarna model YTA18542. I assumed they are compatible as they were sold together but I am now unsure and would rather find out they aren't while it's still in the box.

A: The 60-1870 Dozer Blade will fit lawn tractors manufactured by MTD, including Troy-Bilt and Yardworks models. It is not designed to fit onto Husqvarna lawn tractors.
