Works great, makes Big Buddy heater more usable

This hose works great allowing us to use a 20 pound propane tank with our Big Buddy heater. So much better than using 1 pound tanks.
The slip on black handle for screwing the reverse threaded end into the propane tank is a bit annoying as it keeps slipping off the nut or binding on it at odd angles. If it was slightly bigger on the outside it would be easier to turn when connecting to tanks that don’t often have the inside threads used. That said, the fact that it comes off the nut allowing a crescent wrench to be used if necessary is quite nice.
Very happy we bought this.

Not good when cold

This hose is super stiff when it’s -12 Celsius out. Not impressed for a product designed to be used in the cold. I don’t know what temp other reviewers us3d this hose in. Cheaper ones are much more flexible. I would not buy again.

Q: Item number for Mr Buddy heater fuel filter Looking for Mr Buddy fuel filter (F273699) to go with hose. I was unable to find the fuel filter in the web site, does CTC carry this and if so can you please provide the item number for it.

Q: Canadian Tire web site say no fuel filter required but Mr Heater web site says a fuel filter is required. Who is right?

A: The 5 foot hose (F273701) and 12 foot hose (F273702) does require a fuel filter (F273699) because of the material that the hose is made out of. Because of the plasticizers in the hose oil droplets can be squeezed out of the hose due to the pressure and those droplets can get into the regulator and the heater and damage it. The fuel filter prevents this from happening. We do have a 10 foot hose (F273704) that does not require a fuel filter because the hose is oil free.

A: The Mr. Heater Little Buddy is screwed on top of a 1# propane cylinder. The propane cylinder acts as the “stand” for the heater. In addition, Mr. Heater ships a 1# propane cylinder stabilizer that the cylinder pushes in to in order to provide support. The Little Buddy MUST run off of a 1# cylinder and cannot be used with a 20# propane tank or with a separate propane hose.
