Q: Will this tool work on removing a K & N oil filter HP-2002? It has been my experience so far that this brand requires "extra" tightening when initially installed or they "will" leak. The so-called welded removal nut is indeed useless.
a year agoA: The K&N HP-2002 has a 1" nut welded on it and this nut is NOT useless. I have been using K&N HP-2002 filters for 20+ years without any issues or leaks. You only need to tighten until the rubber seal make contact with the flange, then tighten 1/2 turn. Only use a 6 sided 1" socket. DO NOT use a 12 or 16 sided socket and you will be fine.
