    Good oil

Our family SUV had 45k when we bought it and has 435k now. Still uses no oil and neither do any of our vehicles that are highmilers. Mind you we are defensive drivers and change oil every 5k.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Currently made for ctc by shell, as per msds. Pour point of motomaster 5w30 is lower then formula shell 5w30, so I would assume it should be good in extreme cold. I usually run 5w30 motomaster in summer and 0w30 m1 in -30c and below, but this one should be ok. Amazing deal when on sale (which happens frequently)

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    1 Answer
    • A: Motomaster Supreme 5W-20 Conventional Engine Oil does not meet the GM dexos 1 Gen 2 requirements, so it would not be suitable for use in a Chevrolet Malibu Limited with a 2.5 L 4-cylinder engine

Q: I would like to know how much zinc (zddp) is in this oil 10w30 grade? It is usually measured in parts per million, Do you have any charts with this information? Tia.

    1 Answer
    • A: I market and sell a Canadian made motor oil specifically for flat tappet, pre-catalytic converter vintage, classic and collector cars. When one does this one comes to learn quickly that oil blending companies are loathe to share proprietary information regarding the additives they use. It is my experience that an API rated oil of SN or SM, contains from between 400-600 ppm ZDDP. Totally inadequate for flat tappet motors.

Q: Is the motomaster supreme motor oil ok to use in a 1987 Mercedes Benz 420SEL?

    1 Answer
    • A: Yes, the MM Supreme 5W30 could be used in this application. However, considering the API specification required for this particular 1987 Mercedes Benz vehicle was an “API SL gasoline” rated engine oil, it might be better if a “higher zinc/higher anti-wear” engine oil was used – an engine oil such as the Shell Rotella T Triple Protection 10W30 product.
