Purchased for commercial fishing boat. Well not charge laptop which is very important for navigation and well not run coffee maker either. It should be more then enough to do these things but it isnt

Hello and thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. This inverter produces a modified sine wave. While a MSW is useable with basic On/Off brewers it may not be compatible with coffee makers that have digital controls and/or electronic thermostats. Thos would require the use of a pure sine wave inverter. That said, it is unusual that you would not be able to charge a laptop, even with a MSW inverter. We encourage you to contact the Customer Support line noted on the box/instruction manual for troubleshooting assistance.

We have had a Moto Master 3000 watt inverter at our cottage for over 20 years and used for 7 months a year When it failed we discovered that there is a large vent at the back that we neglected to clean.

Has all of the power I need.

This is my first experience using an inverter. I didn't notice any heat or noise coming from it, but I have yet to reach its operating limit. I was running an ice maker, a water dispenser cold and hot, a Margeritaville Tahiti 3 blender drink maker, a 1000w kettle, a powerful blender and charging various cell phones/devices. I found that I would consume a fully charged deep cycle 100Ah lead acid battery in about 6 hours in this configuration. Keep in mind, the kettle and powerful blender were only used occasionally, if at all. The drink maker was probably only run 1-2 times per hour at about 3 minutes each time. The ice maker was only drawing 120 watts. I couldn't testify as to condition of the batteries I used of if they truly were receiving a deep full charge. As the battery depletes and the voltage drops below a certain level the inverter makes a slightly annoying beeping, but continues to operate. Once the voltage drops further, it emits a quite annoying, more rapid beeping and the inverter no longer provides power. I have not found a way to silence this warning other that turning the unit off and changing the battery. This will probably power everything you need at your off-grid cabin or campsite. You will likely need several batteries in parallel. USE APPROPRIATELY SIZED CABLES WITH FIRM CONNECTIONS.

Q: Where do I connect a ground wire to the inverter? Page 8 of the manual it says, "the ground wire should be connected to an earth ground, such as a buried ground rod". My question is where do I connect the ground wire to the inverter?

  • A: Grounding the inverter isn't always necessary, but is always recommended. There might be a ground screw on the back of the inverter. It looks like the one on a household light switch or receptacle. If you're mounting it in a vehicle you could run a 12 gauge wire to the chassis. If you're in a structure you can drive a copper rod into the ground and wire it up. It does save a few heartbeats if lightning hits nearby.

  • A: Most ac circuits are rated at 1500 watts so I think you are good as far as power goes. As for electronics, don’t see that as an issue but consult your manual
