Product Details

The MOTOMASTER NAUTILUS EXTREME AGM Group Size 31 Battery is a high-performance, deep-cycle battery designed with 99.99% pure lead AGM technology. Made to deliver strong power, endurance, and reliability, it's capable of over 400 charge/discharge cycles to 80% depth of discharge and over 900 cycles at 50% depth. This battery offers more usable power and rapid recharging, accepting the maximum amount of amps for fast recharges. It is clean, safe, maintenance-free, and vibration resistant. With extremely low self-discharge, it can store for up to two years on a full charge and has a longer service life than conventional batteries.

  • MOTOMASTER NAUTILUS EXTREME AGM Group 31 High Performance AGM Deep Cycle Battery features 99.99% pure lead AGM (absorbed glass mat) technology and precision robotic assembly to deliver extreme power, endurance and reliability

  • Capable of over 400 charge/discharge cycles to 80% depth of discharge and over 900 cycles at 50% depth of discharge - that's more than 2x the cycle life of regular AGM batteries and 4X the cycle life of conventional flooded deep cycle batteries

  • More Useable Power: Unlike conventional flooded batteries that should never be taken beyond 50% depth of discharge, pure lead AGM technology can withstand deep discharges allowing you to take advantage of more of the battery's rated amp hour

  • Rapid Recharging: Accepts the maximum amount of amps that an alternator or battery charger can deliver for astonishingly fast recharges

  • Clean, Safe and Truly Maintenance-free: No messy or dangerous acid spills, can be mounted in virtually any position, no gassing (under normal charging), never requires water to be added and brass terminals that will never build corrosion

  • Extremely Low Self-Discharge: Stores for up to 2 years on a full charge with no loss of capacity, ideal for off-season storage

  • Extreme Vibration Resistance: Up to 28X more vibration resistant than a conventional marine battery to handle the roughest waters or terrain

  • Longest Life: Up to 2x longer service life than regular AGM batteries and 6x longer than conventional flooded batteries

  • Group size: 31

  • 2150 Pulse crank amps, 1370 marine crank amps, 103 amp hours, 220 minute reserve capacity

  • Dimensions: 13" L x 6-3/4" W x 9-3/4" H (330 x 170 x 635 mm)

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Questions

Q: How will this battery perform in extreme cold conditions? I need a battery that can be charged by a 100-W solar panel. The battery will charge an electronic device that runs continuously for days or weeks during the winter.

    • A: I purchased 2 of these AGM batteries because I was looking for batteries that would perform well in cold -20C weather.  I was satisfied with the performance of these batteries. They are a good performer in cold weather. Because of the draw down limitations on AGM batteries you have to run a charging system that keeps them fully charged. Just make sure that you have enough charging capacity in the solar panels to keep the batteries fully charge…over 12 volts. The amount of solar panel capacity is dictated by the load you are running.  I used my batteries to power an 2000W inverter in my SUV. I charged them with an AC/DC charger from my car alternator which did the job very well. I’m not an electronics guy…but if you plan to run any significant load on a continuous basis, I would be seeking professional advice as to whether 100W solar panel is adequate to maintain batteries in fully charged condition. Short winter days and cold weather conditions don’t provide much charge for any significant continuous load. You need to seek professional opinion from solar power qualified experts.

Q: Can I charge this battery using an outboard motor charging system (stator/alternator) on my boat?

    3 Answers
    • A: It'll take a charge, just like any other battery. In my RV, it charges either on the internal system, ( when on generator), or when the RV is hooked up to a running vehicle, or from a solar panel with charge controller, or from a battery charger hooked up to a generator. Awesome battery, expensive.. but worth every dollar.

Q: What is the weight of this battery MOTOMASTER NAUTILUS EXTREME AGM Group Size 31 Battery

    • A: Lead is one of the densest materials known to man.. You'll know how much lead is in this battery when you pick it up. It's heavy for a reason. I'd say 80 to 90 pounds ( 40 to 45 kilos). You need to use both hands.. LOL.

Q: I’m looking for a 36volt 60amp battery is this battery sufficient enough. I’m hooking it up in my boat to run my new Garmin Force trolling motor.

    • A: That a 12volt 103amp hour, I have two hooked up parallel in camper yo run 12volts with 206 amps hour! You boat trolling motor should only need 12volts right? One batter will run your trolling motor all day, fully charged !

Q: Is this battery considered an AGM 1 or AGM 2 type of battery?

    2 Answers
    • A: AGM1 or 2 are not battery types, they are charging profiles. These batteries have a charge rate of 14.4 to14.8 volts and a float charge rate of 13.5 to 13.8 volts. That would be an AGM2 profile but AGM1 wouldn’t hurt anything. Best to check what your charger puts out for each profile and select accordingly.

Q: How long will this power a 12 volt 18 amp bilge pump?

    2 Answers
    • A: This battery is rated at 103 amp hours (https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/motomaster-nautilus-extreme-agm-group-size-31-battery-0103196p.html). An amp hour indicates how much amperage a battery can provide for exactly one hour. Therefore, a fully charged battery should run your 18 amp pump for 5.7 hours (103 amp hrs/18 amp=5.7 hrs).

Q: Hi, Will this work as a sump pump battery back up. Thanks

    2 Answers
    • A: Depends on the size of the pump. A 1/3 H.P. Sump pump would run continuously  for just under 5 hrs. A 1/2 H.P. sump pump running continuously would last for just under 3.5 hours. Most pumps would run intermittently so the times would increase.
