Product Details

The Motomaster Nautilus Extreme AGM Group Size 24 Battery sets a new standard in battery technology. With 99.99% pure lead and AGM (absorbed glass mat) technology, this battery offers advanced power, endurance and reliability. It boasts over 400 charge/discharge cycles at 80% depth of discharge and over 900 cycles at 50% depth. Unlike traditional batteries, the pure lead AGM technology can withstand deep discharges, providing more usable power. It also recharges rapidly, accepting the maximum amount of amps from an alternator or battery charger. The battery is clean, safe, and maintenance-free, with no acid spills or corrosion. It offers extreme vibration resistance and a long service life.

  • MOTOMASTER NAUTILUS EXTREME AGM Group 24 High Performance AGM Deep Cycle Battery features 99.99% pure lead AGM (absorbed glass mat) technology and precision robotic assembly to deliver extreme power, endurance and reliability

  • Capable of over 400 charge/discharge cycles to 80% depth of discharge and over 900 cycles at 50% depth of discharge - that's more than 2x the cycle life of regular AGM batteries and 4X the cycle life of conventional flooded deep cycle batteries

  • More Useable Power: Unlike conventional flooded batteries that should never be taken beyond 50% depth of discharge, pure lead AGM technology can withstand deep discharges allowing you to take advantage of more of the battery's rated amp hour

  • Rapid Recharging: Accepts the maximum amount of amps that an alternator or battery charger can deliver for astonishingly fast recharges

  • Clean, safe and truly maintenance-free: no messy or dangerous acid spills, can be mounted in virtually any position, no gassing (under normal charging), never requires water to be added and brass terminals that will never build corrosion

  • Extremely low self-discharge: Stores for up to 2 years on a full charge with no loss of capacity, ideal for off-season storage

  • Extreme vibration resistance: Up to 28X more vibration resistant than a conventional marine battery to handle the roughest waters or terrain

  • Longest life: Up to 2x longer service life than regular AGM batteries and 6x longer than conventional flooded batteries

  • Group size: 24

  • 1500 Pulse crank amps, 1010 marine crank amps, 76 amp hours, 160 minute reserve capacity

  • Dimensions: 10-3/4" L x 6-3/4" W x 9-3/8" H (273 x 170 x 246 mm)

  • Please return your old lead-acid battery to Canadian Tire for recycling. Virtually 100% of the content can be recycled and used in the manufacture of new lead-acid batteries.

Defective battery. In second day of use on my boat couldn’t start the engine - completely dead battery. Big trouble on the water. Charged overnight in marine shop - diagnosed as defective , returned to store.

AGM are supposed to come back to life from full discharge but these do not. Every spring I have had to replace -2 each year over the 4 yr warranty in my boat. Now warranty is up and I will not go with these again. Each spring run them on a smart charger but they boil within a day. At a grand yr these are very disappointing

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Are these refurbished? These look like a lot like Northstar Brand batteries, and have the same specs? Are they manufactured by Northstar?

    1 Answer
    • A: The are brand new batteries, not refurbished. Due to the competitive nature of our business we do not typically disclose our manufacturing sources. MotoMaster works with suppliers from all over the world and ensures products are tested to meet quality specifications prescribed by MotoMaster. If there are any specific questions you have about the use of this battery, we will be glad to answer it for you.

Q: My batteries are leaking water when even slightly tilted. Is this normal?

    1 Answer
    • A: Hello. This battery - the MotoMaster Nautilus Extreme-duty AGM (model 010-2496)) - will not leak. It can be mounted in any orientation (except upside down). Are you sure you are looking at the correct battery on our website? Please confirm your model number - it's listed on the top of your battery (looks like 010-24_ _). It really sounds like your battery is the more common MotoMaster Nautilus flooded battery, in which case it is not sealed and will leak if tilted more than just a few degrees. Flooded batteries are not sealed and must be installed in a fully upright position. What's leaking is sulfuric acid - please wear appropriate hand and eye protection when cleaning up your spill. You can pour baking soda onto the acid to neutralize it, then use water to rinse clean. If your application requires a tilted installation, or you need to move/transport your batteries often or even occasionally, you might want to considered a sealed, non-spillable AGM model. Hope this helps.

Q: Can the top be removed to top up the water levels? If so, how?

    1 Answer
    • A: This is a sealed, VRLA (valve-regulated lead-acid) AGM battery. There is no ability nor is there any need to open the battery and check/top up water levels. It's VRLA design means gasses naturally produced during use and charging are recombined inside the battery. It would only lose electrolyte if overcharged, that's why we recommend the use of a smart battery charger and one that specifically intended for AGM batteries.

Q: Should the “12 volt cold/agm” mode or “12 volt agm+” mode be selected to charge this battery with a Noco g26000?

    1 Answer
    • A: Definitely the Cold/AGM mode - this is a 14.8V charge mode. The AGM+ is a 15.5V charge mode, which is required for certain AGM batteries but is too high for this one (and would be harmful to this battery).
