    Excellent battery!

I purchased my first Eliminator battery eight years ago and just noticed that in the extreme cold lately that my truck didn’t crank over as fast as last winter. I am very happy with the battery’s service so I purchased a new Eliminator battery to replace it. The original battery in the truck failed after only three years so the replacement was much better than the original.

    Questions

Q: Is this battery vented? Where exactly is the port? I need to connect my car's vent hose underneath the passenger seat.

    5 Answers
    • A: A follow up to Pete's follow up... The hardware bag attached to the side of the battery is being phased out. Going forward, the vent plug will be supplied attached to a red positive post cover. Simply twist of vent plug off the post cover.

Q: will warranty be honored if not installed by CTC

    4 Answers
    • A: Funny you should ask, the answer is a qualified yes. I have exchanged it over the counter...be prepared to prove the battery needs to be replaced. However, when I had my vehicle in the CT garage and was already paying them to find a parasitic drain (they didn't find it...I found it myself later), they replaced the (less than 2 days old) battery thinking that was the problem (it wasn't) and charged me $50 for the "work" since they did not originally install it.

Q: Does this battery come with a vent tube? It shows that this battery can be used as a replacement in my 2000 porsche 911, it has a vent tube

    3 Answers
    • A: No it does not. If your vehicle has the battery in the passenger compartment (ie inside the car) then you need a battery with a vent tube to prevent the inhalation or off gasses from the battery from being inhaled.

Q: Will this work for a 2006 gmc canyon

    2 Answers
    • A: The battery in a 2006 Canyon sits within an active cooling box. A dual terminal battery is unlikely to fit properly within the box. A "true" Group 86 battery is required to fit properly.

Q: I e accidentally screwed my strap holders onto my cover which have penetrated the battery casing. It is now leaking a clear and brown colour. What should I do? Battery being used for camper.

    2 Answers
    • A: The fluid oozing out of the casing may be actual battery acid.  If you sprinkle some baking soda onto the liquid, it may bubble and suds up.  That will confirm that the ooze is acid.  If nothing happens, then the ooze is not acid.  In either case, although expensive, replace the battery, clean up the ooze with baking soda and water, and flush with copious amounts of water.
