Q: I have two sets of tires that I switch out seasonally. I was planning on mounting these side by side with the rack sharing the middle stud. Would this be advisable?

A: Manual says no but you do what you want. It's your house and you gotta deal with it if things break. "WARNING! The unit must be installed according to the instructions. Never install more than one unit on any two wall studs. All fasteners must be checked and tightened periodically."

Q: Will 22” tires fit in this rack?

A: Unfortunately, the question did not provide enough information to answer definitively. This MotoMaster Tire Rack is able to accommodate tires up to 30" in diameter. However tire size compatibility with this rack also depends on the tire type, width and aspect ratio. We recommend taking a look at the tire size which can be found on the tire's side wall.

Q: I know the rack can be mounted closer to the ground, but we want to mount it higher up. Do you find it heavy to lift the tires onto the rack?

A: Yes so I turned it into a shelf with a plywood base to store seasonal items that were heavy to get them up off the floor. I have two setup like this and they hold a lot of stuff but not tires anymore.

Q: Can it be mounted to a wooden posts (standard unfinished garage wall), or it requires something stronger like concrete?

Q: What is the actual "inner" width of the rack? It says just over 20 inches wide which does not make any sense.

A: If you need to install on 32" centres, it is impossible to complete the installation of the horizontal support bars, as the space between the vertical supports is about an inch less than the minimum width of the support bars. Please refer to my review for instructions on how to make the rack work with 32" centres. Vette Guy.
