Finally had a chance to test out my inverter, ran my battery to run a laptop and tv for about 6 hours. Ran a cpap all. Night long And in the morning i made toast. It was screaming low voltage alarm but that i am running a long extension cord and this will be changed out to a proper 10g cord! 72amp hr battery! ( charged by 4@100w solar panels). By fall i will also add a second battery to my system when we start getting shorter days.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Eliminator 2000W Inverter

Ran this unit on one deep cycle for well over an hour with 60% load Ran great, Some reviews say it does not perform but it does if you understand inverters. It is a modified wave so great for lights or anything that is not real sensitive to a bit of line hum... It is 1/3 the price of my Pure Sine Wave inverter. This would be great for emergency power, RV or out in the work truck for trouble lights and to run some power tools...

Q: is it easy to "hook-up" & do i need to add another battier

  • A: There is a lot of misinformation being given in this Q & A forum. Those who tell you it won’t supply the power advertised, don’t understand how to apply this inverter. First, the simple answer is no, you do not need another battery, but this does not mean it will supply enough power for any appliance up to 2000W that you plug into it. It will depend upon the specifications of the battery you are connecting to, and the method of your connection. To use the maximum continuous wattage from this inverter (2000W, which it IS capable of supplying), it must be connected to a battery which will output (as a previous response correctly stated) 10 X 20 = 200 amps of 12V power. Lots of deep cycle/RV/Marine batteries will supply this power requirement from a single battery, but you will not be able to draw power at this level for very long (perhaps 30 minutes) before draining the battery. So, from this single source, popcorn in a microwave, toasting a couple of slices of bread, brewing coffee (shutting it off soon thereafter) would be viable. Running an air conditioner would not. Secondly, you must ensure that the inverter is connected directly to the battery (not via a simple 12V outlet) using a large enough gauge of wire suitable for the distance it resides away from the battery. This will be a very large gauge of wire, no smaller than 4 AWG gauge for up to only about 3 feet. A larger gauge will be required for a longer distance. Consult your owner’s manual for more precise information. Your local electrical supply store can supply the wire & connectors you need, or you can spend extra to purchase a pre-manufactured cable from a retailer specializing in inverters. You can use an extension cord from the inverter, if you stay within the manufacturer’s stipulations of gauge and distance for household use of your appliance. The unit will do the job it advertises, if you follow the directions.

  • A: so , to my knowledge this power pack is mod sign wave , and is good for recharging hearing aids etc , and mechanical motor running , like fridge , it does not run electronics so well as they need pure signe wave , if you picture it as a wave , this power pack is not a smooth wave , more like a staircase , this is actually my third purchased , all three still active , and i recommend them , for power outages phone charging , hearing aid charging etc , hope this helps

  • A: I know this is an old post but I learned quickly using this with my fifth wheel that if I plug the trailer into the inverter I have to turn the breaker off inside the trailer to the converter that charges the battery or I get this error.

Q: Does the 2000W inverter include a battery trickle charger and a relay transfer switch that transfers to and from the battery when there is an outage?

  • A: No, it doesn't have that features. You can try other model like the Motomaster 1000w inverter and charger.

Q: how long will this inverter run a 500 watt space heater on 3 heavy truck batteries

2 Answers
  • A: This is a 2000W inverter so it can run your 500W space heater but for how long has nothing to do with the inverter and everything to do with how much battery capacity you have. A 120V heater that draws 500W (or about 4.2 amps AC) draws about 46 amps DC. Assuming your heavy truck batteries are roughly 110Ah each (or 330Ah total), they could run this heater (at the full 500W) for about 1.5 hours before reaching a 50% discharge (which is usually as far down as you should draw batteries if you want them to last a few years). Of course this runtime could vary greatly depending on type of battery (flooded vs AGM), temperature, age of battery...

Q: how many hours will operate a cpap machine

2 Answers
  • A: This is just an inverter - it converts 12V DC battery power to 110V AC power. You need to connect it to a battery. 1000W is more than enough to run a CPAP machine but how long depends on how much battery power you have. There are lots of different batteries and lots of different CPAP machines but, an average size deep cycle battery should be able to run a typical CPAP machine about 20-30 hours (with the humidifier turned off).
