Good in the case of battery theft from your car

Used 2 of them to repair my battery cables after they were cut during a theft of my battery. Worked well and easy to install. Definitely a good option if your ever unfortunate enough to have your vehicles battery stolen and the cable cut.

Q: rubber casing around the connectors suposted to melt and corrode? I had this part for less than a year it melted and corroded causeing my car to fail on the highway no power to signal or my hazards on to indicate that there was mechanical issue, Normal?

  • A: Certainly this would not be normal and not something we have heard of before. It is difficult to comment on your situation without more details but based on your description suggests possible arcing or shorting. There is the possibility that the fastener holding the wire cable was loose or that the terminal was touching another piece of metal perhaps.

Q: Why is cable length(PN#011-0951-0) not 36" specified in category Features? The cable length is 36" (91.5 cm# length, 4 gauge specified in Feature, but it is actually less than 8".It is too short and can't fit for my car. Can the cable length be adjusted #changed# at local stores?

  • A: Our apologies as this repair splice is not 36”, it is closer to 8” as you said. We will have the website corrected. If you are looking for a 4-gauge, 37” top post replacement battery cable, please see item 11-0944. This style also comes in many other lengths; just use the Size/Style dropdown box to select your desired length.
