Q: Capacity double check Just to confirm, EACH tie down has a 1200lb capacity? And is that affixed just to the box floor or do they have to be bolted to the truck frame or bed cross bar? Thx

A: The 1,200lbs. rating for the 40-2773 light duty D-Ring is the break strength of the D-Ring piece itself. Testing is done by attaching the product to a much stronger surface, called a non-yielding surface. This way the product fails before the mounting surface so that we can gauge how strong the product is. We cannot control how a consumer specifically mounts the product in the real world. They could mount the product to the wood floor of a trailer, or bolt it to the frame of a truck and get very different performance results. The mounting is beyond our control, but, when mounted to a surface that is stronger than the product, the product has a break Strength of 1,200 lbs.
