I'm using these for watering houseplants that the dirt has pesky little black flies. Works wonders! Took two weeks and all of the flies are gone!

Q: Can this be used in rain barrels. Will it harm plants watered with the water from the rain barrel?

A: Yes you can use them in rain barrels. This is exactly what they are meant for. They don’t harm plants at all. Many indoor plant owners buy these to put in their plant water, to prevent various pests in their plants. Go right ahead and stick them in your rain barrels with full confidence.

Q: Will this kill gnat flies?

A: Yes they kill the eggs in the soil. Use sticky traps to get the adults and starve them of water and dry out the plants thoroughly. When you do water use a quarter of the dunk for about 4L. Look into neem oil as well

Q: Is this product a replacement for Aqua bac we used to buy at CT stores?

A: This is a newer product but it does NOT work the same way as BTI, which is the main ingredient in Aqua bac. The main ingredient in Mosquiron is Novaluron. "Novaluron is very highly toxic to freshwater and marine invertebrates on an acute and chronic basis and shows negligible toxicity to freshwater and marine fish, algae and aquatic vascular plants."
