    I love telling Siri to turn on my morning, shower

    It’s been a month since I replaced my old IO digital shower unit that I installed 13 years ago. It had been acting up for at least the last six years requiring me to constantly reboot it to get it to work. I purchased the new smart digital shower controller in Black and install the four-way valve myself which required rearranging the plumbing that I had so meticulously done for the original unit. My first experience using PEX as I thought it would make installation and rerouting easier since number one outlet has to be to the main showerhead, which should be the rain shower. Everything else can be renamed the programmed after that installation went fine, and I reused the original connectors that came with my Io unit. Programming was easy once I found out that I had to re split my T-Mobil Wi-Fi to a separate 2.4 gig band and rename it. Went crazy with the voice commands till I discovered that I had to actually name the shower instead of using setting one or setting two. I’m 75 years old and I’ve never been a Plumber or worked in tech but programming and working on everything was easy Peezy. I saw comments that said no one told them to plug it into a surge protector. Everything I own that is electronic is plugged into a search protector. My microwave, refrigerator,washer,tvs, even my paper shredder is plugged into a surge protector. I highly recommend this set up for your shower. very high priced, buy it on sale. I was surprised that I did not have to even call Moen support one time. Moen‘s warranty and all their products is outstanding. It’s too bad. The digital unit doesn’t carry a lifetime warranty.

    Poor flow compared to original ioDIGITAL

    I had the ioDIGITAL 3384 which I loved. It then had a faulty valve so I had to replace the whole valve AND the fully functional controller. I replaced it with the S3104 and corresponding controller. The new controller has different mounting which required me to drill new holes in my tile and fill the previous holes. (In the future, please keep the same set up.) I got it all installed and then turned it on and the flow was weak compared to the ioDIGITAL valve. I did some looking and the gpm is significantly less (14 gpm compared to 19 gpm). Not happy. I should have went with the Kohler Anthem valve (22 gpm).

We would suggest verifying the controller is not set to water saving mode. The Smart Shower is designed to deliver 14 gpm at 45 psi unrestricted total flow through all outlets. The ioDigital was designed to deliver 17.5gpm at 45 psi unrestricted flow. Should you require installation, technical or warranty assistance for you can call us at 1-800-289-6636; option 8.

    Need a new valve

    We need to buy a whole new valve because the electronics were burned out when our power went out. As far as I can tell, we were never told that this should be on a surge protector. This valve is only years old and should not have to replaced because the unit could not deal with the power going on and off.

    Installed this in my new home 2 years ago and it is a great shower. Works well. Could use some improvements to the app. You can buy a battery backup, but the app does not show you if it has good batteries or not. Probably an oversight that can be added later. Still a great experience.

    Well I have to say after reading other people’s comments I needed to chime in! I installed the system myself about a year ago and only issue was getting the black controller. But customer service was great and sent me a loaner to do my water tests and then when my 4 station controller came I. I was able to install. I honestly can say I LOVE IT! I have not had any issues thus far and keep reading not so good reviews but I have nothing to say but great things about this product. Only downside is I have hard well water so I have to deal with white calcium build up on controller.
