Solid wall anchors!

Great wall anchors. I used them to install a long grab bar in my shower/bathtub tiled wall. There were no studs available behind the ceramic tiles,so used these anchors instead. Used a 1 3/8” diamond hole saw to cut through the tiles and drywall first before installing 3 of these anchors. The grip is astounding and there was enough adjustment in the 1 3/8” hole to accommodate where the anchors should be for a perfect fit of the grab bar. I highly recommend these anchors for such an installation.

very solid anchor

Used this anchor to secure a grab bar in my shower where one side did not line up with a stud behind the wall. I was able to anchor one end into a stud, and this one through the tile wall. It holds very solidly, as described in a video available on YouTube. Very satisfatory result.

Not compatible with Moen Elite Grab Bar, 24 x 1.25-in, Chrome

I purchased the Moen Elite Grab Bar, 24 x 1.25-in, Chrome, and the suggested Moen Securemount Anchors, Chrome, that are meant to secure the grab bar to the wall. However the flanges on the grab bar are too small to snap onto the plate of the Moen Securemount Anchors. So I had to buy a clear waterproof silicone to cover the slight opening between the parts to stop any water leaking behind the tiles and the drywall. This makes me wonder if the grab bar I purchased is discontinued or if they were ever compatible to begin with.

Q: Is this suitable for installing into studs behind a fibreglass shower wall if there is space between the stud and showerwall?

- A: They are designed to use wherever you can not secure something to a wall stud, or other secure object. As long as you can drill a hole into the wall for the flat sliding piece to go in, you can mount it to anything. It basically sandwiches the wall and uses it as support. I would be careful where it’s placed because you need to drill a hole into the wall. I would advise using lots of silicone also to seal the anchor so water does not get into the wall. Keep in mind, this is my opinion and I can not, and do not, guarantee anything nor do I claim to be as knowledgeable as perhaps a licensed contractor, but I am simply offering my experience with the product.
