Twenty years of digital valve development?

I can't believe this is the result of twenty years of digital shower development. Control is extremely limited unless you install an app on your phone. What's the purpose of the app? Screen is way bright and no dimmer unless it is through the app. Power went out and reset the valve system three times at 5 min downtime each time per instructions with no impact. Old ioDigital system never required that after a power loss. Also no pressure control so you need to install a reducer valve on your showerhead. Major step back, and no better than a manually controlled mixer valve.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Not reliable

Had this for 3 years and replaced the touchscreen and valve assembly complete. Now the water pressure is slowly decreasing, I have reset and cleaned strainers which were clean upon removal. Very unreliable and now looking for ways to replace. I do not recommend this unit.

Great when it works but it keeps shutting down

When this thing works, it's just great but there are two big problems:
1) You just woke up, looking forward to a nice luxurious shower and your shower controller isn't on. This thing keeps randomly shutting down - about 10 times in the last 6 months.
2) The app is finicky as hell and it's like installing software that hates you from the 1980s.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Can I place this unit in my basement next to the pex manifold and run the showerhead lines about 50 feet to the shower? I bought an additional 30 feet extension cable to mount the interface panel if possible.
