an inch too long

Towel bar was purchased to fit in ceramic holders in a house built in 1960. The original ceramic holders are exactly 24" the the inside bracket. In order to fit the new bar in, and inch had to be cut off with a hacksaw.

It looks good. I needed to saw about 1/4 inch from one end to have it fit in the brackets but the springs at the end are removeable, so it wasn't too challenging.

easy to cut

The bar is 24 inches, but my mounts were only 23 inches apart. It was actually really simple to slide out the spring loaded end, cut the extra inch off and slip it back in. Perfect!
