    Don't fall for it, even when on sale.

    Piece of cheap plastic junk. Stay away. Bought it on sale, but even then it's too expensive for what it is. The LED display is too dim to be readable in direct sunlight. The maintaining stage does not maintain the battery, it overcharges it. Unfortunately Canadian Tire has changed its return policy and I cannot get a refund, only exchange. I don't want anything else from this store chain.

    No, I do not recommend this product.

    If battery is dead you cannot bring back to life with this charger only does if the vehicle battery drains an you catch it right away and Canadian tire doesn’t do returns on chargers so your stuck with it would not recommend spend a bit more buy one that actually works well

    Q: I bought this charger to charge and maintain my skidoo and lawn tractor batteries. I normally remove both. I don’t understand the part of the #6 wire??? Do I have to buy 24” of wire? And how will I connect that wire to ghd battery post? Seems complicated.

    • A: I received this request from CTC on the same charger we purchased for the same charging abilities and ours has 2 clamps from the charger (red-for the positive terminal and black - for the negative. Supply cord to the charger gets plugged into the wall, then set your mode. We usually always use the trickle mode (2A-15A). Hope this helps.

    • A: As part of it's multi-step charging process, this battery charger will automatically initiate a pulse desulphation step for batteries exhibiting extremely low voltage. The charger does not have a reconditioning mode to help restore lost capacity in old/tired/stratified/neglected batteries. Canadian Tire offers numerous options for battery chargers with Reconditioning (either automatic or manual) including: - select MotoMaster Eliminator Precision Series models - select MotoMaster Eliminator Workshop Series models - select MotoMaster Nautilus models - select NOCO Genius models - select DEWALT models

    • A: No this battery charger is not recommended for lithium batteries. For lithium (LiFePO4) batteries, Canadian Tire carries MotoMaster Eliminator XPC Precision Series models (available in 5/1A, 10/2A and 20/4A), any of the NOCO Genius models or the Battery Tender 3A model.

    Q: Fan motor not running. Should it?

    • A: The fan is thermal-controlled - it will only run if/when the internal temperature reaches a certain point and needs cooling. Particularly if using the charger in cold/winter it is unlikely to get warm enough to require the fan to run to cool it.
