The Cross Climates are the best tires I have ever owned, bar none. They are perfect in rain, and super quiet on dry pavement. We have yet to have any snow, but I am confident they will perform well. I will be putting these on my wife's car when she needs new tires.

Q: I have been researching tires for my sons escape. He does the vast majority of his driving in Calgary. Does this tire perform well in the city or is there a better choice? Cost is an issue.

A: Alex’s response is not correct. These tires carry the 3-Peak Mountain Snow Flake (3PMSF) stamp, which indicates it is approved for winter and severe weather use. The Canadian Government requires that tires marked with a three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMS) symbol must comply with minimum safety standards for winter driving. Is it as good as a dedicated snow tire? Usually not, but some 3PMSF tires have tested very well in direct comparisons. This is a worthy alternative to dealing with two sets of tires for summer vs. winter driving.

Q: A second question. While most reviews on the cross climate and cc2 are good several complain about noise, premature wear and handling issues after about 10K. Can you explain cause for these issues?
