Looks nice...BUT

I purchased this for two reasons, 1) I liked the look and 2) I love the idea it has two separate seed chambers for different types of seeds.. I have used it for about two months now with mixed seed in one compartment and black oil sunflower seed in the other and the birds refuse to go to it or feed from it. I have another feeder (Acorn Screen Bird Feeder #142-5315-4) also purchased at Canadian Tire that I have been using for 2 years now and the birds love it. Not sure why the Metal Bird Feeder is not working. Second complaint with this feeder is that after only two months the copper top is already starting to show signs of rust. Very disappointing. I'm going to try safflower seed and hang it in a different location to see if that makes it more appealing to the birds, hopefully. I'd return it but doubt Canadian Tire would take it back due to the rust. Would I recommend this feeder, quite simply - NO. There are other better feeders out there at Canadian Tire and other retailers.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Great feeder.. after 2 years

I bought this two years ago ( 2017). It has lasted 2 winters and survived me dropping it, snow, ice, hail and sun. For all those people that talk about the squirrels.. Its not the feeder.. its the pole you are using. hang it on a tall pole ( duh) like the fact you can put seed ( ie sunflower, or regular) and Nijer seed in the other. It hasn't rusted in two years. I have mine on a metal pole ( shepards crook) from Cdn tire. i dropped it once and dented the metal perch.. but bent it back. For the price its great.. i would buy a second one. chirp chirp.

Yes, I recommend this product.

What a waste of birdseed...

We bought this last year. The squirrels and chipmunks don't seem to bother with it. If it rains when we are not home, the seed gets wet, and it has to be tossed or it gets moldy and the birds will get sick. We have taken apart several times to wash it out, dry it thoroughly and only put a small amount of seed in each side. And as someone else mentioned, the mesh is too fine on the one side. This is pricey garbage.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Nice dual chamber feeder

Great dual chamber feeder! Only issue is having to fill the larger mesh side more often but generally not an issue. Attracts a nice variety of birds and though not intended chipmunks too.

Look elsewhere - Does not work well

I've had this feeder for about 6 months and am looking to replace it. The holes at the base are too narrow for most seed to get through...which results in the seed not falling down to the tray. The mesh on one side of the feeder is too tightly woven, so again, the seed cannot get out for the birds to eat. Basically what happens is the birds peck out of the larger side until they can no longer reach. The only seeds that seem to barely get through are the cheap small filler seeds. Sunflower seeds, millet, safflower and any bits of nuts will not get through, Overall, this item is a bust. I would spend your money on something with a more thoughtful design. I'm not convinced the manufacturers bothered to test different types of bird seed in this unit.

No, I do not recommend this product.
