Q: Is Meguiar's Ultimate Compound Colour & Clarity Restorer useful for Honda Civic clearcoat failure? We have a 2010 black Civic and it's all over. We were considering repaint or wrapping but came across this.

A: I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if it's clear coat failure the only solution is a repaint. Compounding or polishing over clear coat failure will speed up the failure. If it's oxidation then ultimate compound will take car of it. Pictures help.

Q: Will this make my matte paint glossy at al? I just repainted uses Scratches Happen but the final product is matte rather than gloss after putting on the clear coat.

A: No it will not make matte paint glossy. It does give new life to previously glossy finishes that have faded or has oxidation blemishes.

A: It is not clear from the question which surface exactly you are hoping this will work for but if you are referring paint on a car yes, it is likely worth a shot.

Q: Is this product safe to use on single stage-non clear coat metallic finishes? The red paint on my 1982 car has oxidation on hood, roof & trunk lid...thanks

Q: Is this strong enough to polish out clear coat sanding marks. e.g. polish 1000 grit, or 1500 grit, sanding marks?

A: With the right tool and pads it might have some impact but it is really not designed for that type of application. Sanding with 1000-1500 grit paper and then removing the marks is a professional process and should only be tackled with the appropriate equipment and skills.
