Medline Empower Rollator Walker

I bought this two weeks ago. I am so enjoying using this walker. It is strong and sturdy. Big wheels roll smoothly along. Compartments are so well thought out and handy. Nothing would disappear from them without you noticing! Easy to wash handles..not foam like my old walker. Brakes work well. I like the firm pads on each side to rest my elbows on at the sink! The only “downers” are the weight..quite heavy to lift if you are transporting the walker. (I have a separate one I keep in my trunk for shopping) And the handles are a little shaky which can be a bit annoying until you get used to it! Not enough downers to knock off a star!! All in all a really well made, comfy to use and safe walker!! So glad I purchased it! Highly recommend!!

I bought this walker for my mother and it seems to be a hit with her. I liked the fact that it was heavier than other advertised walkers as I wanted something that felt solid and not flimsy. She loved that it had pockets for storage and a big seat for sitting when she needed to take a rest. It rolls smoothly across the floor, the colour was a nice touch....other than all black and overall, I think this is a really good walker. There are a couple of things that I didn't like, hence the 4 star rating and not 5. First the instruction manual could have been a bit more descriptive for the assembly instructions. There were a couple of things that I got stumped on and had to figure out for myself. The handles are loose, perhaps on purpose but they rattle which makes it seem like a small oversight in the design. The handles are designed to turn 90 degrees inward for when the walker is folder so maybe the looseness is for that purpose. The material that covers the seat is such that it's a magnet for hair and dust. In the winter months with the dry, static filled air that will be a real annoyance.

As a Tested for Life in Canada tester, a short background on our use of walkers. My wife has used a walker for the last 10 years and we own 3 high end walkers. After fully testing this walker here are our thoughts on it. Overall a very well constructed walker. Easy to assemble out of the box, it took me 5 minutes to assemble it. The supplied written instructions are easy to follow and also come with helpful pictures. Where the walker excels is in user comfort, there is a cup holder on the right side of the walker to carry a bottle of water, coffee etc., a height adjustable backrest and height adjustable arm rests when sitting on the seat, a wide and deep fully flat memory foam seat. Under the seat, which is easily lifted, is the carrying pouch (no bending over the walker to reach the pouch, it is right in front of you), a molded tray for pens, pencils, etc., another molded spot for a beverage cup. On the underside of the seat is a Velcro attached 2 compartment zippered wallet/purse. The handles have a spring loaded pin for quick height adjustment. Also there is a quick release button that allows the handles to pivot in when the walker is folded thus it stores in a space no wider than the wheels. The walker has an extra long and wide wheel base. On the safety side of the Walker is where there are a few problems. The spring loaded pin that locks the height adjustment of the handles is smaller than the hole on the handle post, which causes the handles to rattle about 1/8 inch on each side which takes some getting use to. The extra wide/long wheel base does cause a problem when lifting the walker over an obstruction, e.g. curbs, steps etc. With the bicycle grip style handles when lifting the walker the front wheels pivots down, this means you have to lift it higher than normal to clear the obstacle. The walker folds by scissoring front to back thus locking the wheels from loading and unloading the walker into vehicles by rolling it in. Also with all the above comforts listed the overall weight of the walker is increased to a hefty 25 pounds. I have recommended this product but the recommendation comes with a caveat. If you are shorter than 5 ft 5 in and/or have upper body muscle weakness I DO NOT recommend this walker. If you are looking for a strong/heavy comfortable walker for everyday use and are able to handle the weight of this walker, you will not find a better one in this price point.

Easy to work with out of the box and makes every day since we opened it easier to move around and do every day tasks. Quality is fantastic and its very easy to use

This is a good walker that rolls and manoeuvers easily. Perfect for use indoors, however, may be a bit too heavy and bulky for some to fold up to take outdoors or put in car trunks for excursions.
