A: I don't see why not. The only consideration is what liquid. We don't cook meat to much over 200° Fahrenheit. So don't believe it measures temperature much above that. I didn't check. If you want to use this for candy making or deep fryer fat temperature. You need to get a specialized thermometer

Q: I bought this Masterchef meat thermometer at Canadian Tire. It was working great and then yesterday it only start and atop the time. It will not show me the temp. I have tried removing the battery. Any help?

A: Never experienced this issue, mine has been working great, hopefully you have the receipt as I would take it back to get a replacement unfortunately, if it was bought on visa you have longer warranty I believe

Q: where is the temperature probe,at the very skinny tip or where it gets bigger. should i insert the probe up to the thicker part to get the right reading, in other word how far in to the meat do we need to put the probe in to make sure the probes in.

A: Insert the probe into the center of the item you are cooking in several locations in ensure the internal temperature is safe for eating. For example, 140° F for beef and 165° F for chicken. The depth will vary depending on the thickness of the item you are cooking.
