This is an ideal work bench for a smaller space. The setup was reasonably straightforward with good instructions. Very pleased with this unit, and looks good too.

This is horrible as it came in 5 millions pieces A person should be warned there is EXTENSIVE assembly required Also the box had enough styrofoam and plastic to fill a dumpster

Waste of money, can’t be properly assembled.

Like the other low ratings, I’ve encountered nothing but problems trying to assemble the product. Wood block doesn’t align with screw holes, also encountered this with drawers I can’t even fully assemble because of he misalignments. No idea if there’s an issue with the drawers fitting like others because I can’t get them together to check. Went to install the pegboard despite not being able to attach the wood shelf and hey shocker, the holes only align on one side. Unfortunately I have no way to return the product to the store due to disabilty, I had to pay a friend with a truck who was physically able to move the box to pick it up and I can’t afford to pay for it again just to return a product that should already be working, nor should I have to as every issue I’ve had is related to things out of my control and that shouldn’t have been an issue in the first place. I’m now stuck with a useless item I spent over $450 on, it was on sale. Lesson learned. I’ll be sure to check reviews before purchasing anything of value from Canadian Tire. I’ll also mention the ridiculous amount of packaging used that others have commented on. I’m not an environmental nut but it’s a little much for a mostly metal product. Quality control is definitely needed at the Mastercraft factory. Very disappointed in my purchase.

Q: My drawers do not close all the way. They all stick out the same distance. Is there a stopper at the back or a way to adjust so that the drawers will close flush?

  • A: Either the rails are not fully locking in, because they have a "lock" feature where if u push a bit the slide shelves lock in place or it's possible there was some assembly issue where you assembled some parts the wrong way, which is very easy to do with this workbench. And, last option you have some odd one where the tolerances went way off and you have too much space. Either way starts with disassembling the drawers, 1 disassembly is enough to check if the rest also have the same issue, if the drawers are fine, check the rail locations where the rails are to see if there are issues there, if not lastly check over the base where your wooden top meets with the side and middle support, and see if something is sticking out where it shouldn't be.

Q: Is the table accessible from the underside? Could you bolt a vice to the surface, or would you need to use lags?

  • A: Yes the table is accessible from the inside of the cabinet. I have used lags to mount a vise without any problems. The table top is thick enough to us lags.

Q: Can the unit be assembled WITHOUT the back pegboard and high cantilevered shelf while still keeping the back of the cabinet covered? The counter height works for me but the height of the pegboard/ shelf will hit the wall cabinets in my garage.

  • A: yes the peg board mounts to the back after the base is put together. by the way it is very strongly put together and the top thick and heavy.

Q: Can this unit be put beside Mastercraft 6-Drawer, 2-Door Wooden Top Base Storage Cabinet with Shelf & Wheels, Diamond Series, 77 x 20 x 38-in#068-7305-4 to make it longer , the Heights, the same without the pegboard??

  • A: These units are made to match each other unit of this same series. The one unit without wheels need to be adjusted for height, there are adjustments on the bottom of the legs. Make sure you buy them when they are on sale and when Canadian Tire has the promotions of buy 300.00 and get 75.00 back in Canadian tire money or something like that. Its the BEST DEAL you will ever find ... I should know Ive looked at so many different brands at so many stores and waisted so much GAS driving around when all I had to do is go straight to Canadian Tire on the right day and buy it. Hope this helps

  • A: I have the work Cabinet between a wall and a work bench and have no issues getting it in and getting it out when necessary. The wheels straighten up nicely to accommodate this.
