Stay away if you wanna use the 32 inch length

When installing into 2 studs which are 32 inches apart, you actually only get about 30 inches of storage space. If you want 32 inches of storage space, you would have to install each rack 34 inches apart, which of course is not possible if your studs are the standard 16 inches apart. 30 inches will not fit 4 standard tires!!

Nice quality

Surprisingly good quality for the price you pay when on sale. Did not use the screws included in the package to attach to the wall as I needed to attach to concrete wall and used tapcones with washers and so far they hold fine. Follow instructions to fit horizontal bars according to tire size. Mine hold 17” and 19” and different configuration for both (2 sets of racks).

Yes, I recommend this product.

Safety Hazard

Warning! Bolts may shear and tires may fall! I bought two sets of these for storing tires last fall. The one that failed was used to store 4x16" tires with steel rims ~150 pounds total. Bolts sheared off on one side when swapping seasonal tires. Remaining piece left as wall ornament now...

No, I do not recommend this product.

Great product at a good price

This heavy duty storage rack worked out great. I now can store my summer/winter tires in limited space in the garage. This shelf unit worked out great. I mounted it in my crowded garage and gained some space. It is heavy duty and an all round good product.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Not a Good Design!

Recently bought 2 of these for our now smaller garage to store the summer tires with rims for the winter season. As mentioned by a previous reviewer, the brackets that attach to the walls do not allow enough room for the tires to sit on top of the horizontal bars that go between the wall mount brackets. (Could not install a 2 x 4 into the studs then mount the wall mount bracket due to the thickness of our 2.5 inch drywall & insulation. Had already bought 4 inch lag bolts to replace the ones that came with the tire rack to reach far enough into the studs.) ) Therefore the tires on one side rest up against the garage wall and seem to provide enough force on the front horizontal bar on which the other part of the 18 inch tire sits to put a lot of force on the front horizontal bar. For the 19 inch wheels it was not a good fit at all with most of the wheel hanging over the front horizontal bar with no contact on the back horizontal bar at all.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Will 18" rims/tires fit on this?

  • A: Hey Scot, yes they will. I have 2 of these racks. One set holds my wife's 19" SUV rims with touring tires on them and I store my 20" summer rims on the other and they fit fine.

Q: Just switched to 235/55 R 19 tires. Will these still fit on this rack? Which positions should the cross bars be in?

1 Answer
  • A: Yes, the width and diameter of your tires will fit on this MaxWorks Tire Rack, as long as your tire + wheel combination does not exceed 300-lbs. You will need to position the crossbars in holes 1 (closest to the wall) and 4 (second-last).

  • A: En ce qui concerne la taille des pneus, il ne devrait y avoir aucun problème. En termes de poids, cependant, le client doit peser ses pneus pour s'assurer qu'ils ne dépassent pas la capacité de 300 livres du rack de pneus.

Q: If no stud finder, will it be OK to install a screw with plastic anchors in drywall. If so, can I store small tires without rims. Just tires. Thanks
