Buy the Maximum 4ah 20V Instead

got these for Christmas, used 1 battery and what would be it's second charge its flashing as defective on my charger, grabbed the second one (not used yet) and that's flashing defective on the charger right out of the box. My regular 2ah maximum batteries charge fine on charger
No, I do not recommend this product.

These batteries are part of the new 40V system. They will not charge on the prior 20V chargers. Unfortunately, the 20V charger was not originally designed to accommodate these new batteries as the 40V platform was not in existence at that time and the charging requirement is different. These batteries however do power all of the current 20V tools as well as the new 40V tools.

A: If you are looking specifically to power 40V Maximum tools, your battery options are 54-3205, 54-7597, 54-7983, and 54-8715. All of these battery options will also power the Maximum line of 20V tools.

Q: will the charger from the 20v max x-treme line of batteries charge these batteries ?

A: These batteries require the charger #054-7985 to be charged, this is due to the 40V feature. However, the charger #054-7985 will charge all of the existing types of 20V Maximum batteries. Similarly the 20V/40V batteries will operate on all Maximum 20V tools, but again, the 40V feature requires the specified charger. The reason for this requirement is that the 20V/40V adaptability feature did not exist when the original 20V platform was engineered.

A: Sorry, no, these batteries are not a replacement for 54-3105. Your 18V MC/MX platform is no longer manufactured.
