Both sturdy and light weight

I need this to shape up a particularly tall hedge row that sits behind my house, and for harvesting items from all of my fruit trees. I like that it is fairly light weight, and that the base is quite wide when the legs are spread out as far as they will go. I might add little sleds to the bottom of the feet so that I don't sink into the mud, as this is primarily for outdoor use, and stored inside my garage.

Sturdiest Step Ladder I've Ever Owned!

I needed a taller step ladder to reach my eavestroughs more easily. I was contemplating buying the Maximum "Grade 1" eight-footer, then this one went on sale. After seeing both side by side in the store, there was no contest. This ladder is by far, the sturdiest step ladder I've ever owned. It IS heavier than the Grade 1 by only one pound, but the sturdier feeling of this Grade 1A is discernable when being hands-on with both in the store. Highly recommend!!

Ladder is nice and solid. The top step is a plastic tray that is, very handy to set tools or hardware on. Ladder has a reasonable weight for the size of it. It was great to use, my Triangle Master Card to earn extra points, from the promotional offer.

Q: How does this ladder compare to the black mastercraft ladder, for stability. I understand there is a 50lbs weight rating difference. Also how does it compare to a Louisville

A: Stability should not be an issue with any of our ladder offerings as we rigorously test the quality to ensure they adhere to our quality of standards. The type 1A weight capacity is of our highest load rating at 300lbs.
