    Garage

Had it for a month with light use and it’s already worn out. It’s twisted and bent. My other tapes have lasted years without any problems. It also springs back with such force it nips your finger everytime.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Worst Tape I have ever.

Terrible tape lasted about 4 hrs framing. Blade is way too thin and twists. hook on end will not stay hooked on Material. Don't waste your money on it. obviously it was never tested.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Well Made

I buy tape measures for specific purposes. And this one is well suited for Measuring things like carpet areas and floor lay-out. Large easy to read numbers. Nice texturing on the surface. Big grippy hook. 25' is good for most rooms. The hook has a large tang with 4 rivets meaning less bending at the tip. It has a nice sturdy construction. And it has a rubber stopper where the tip hits when reeled back in. The one "feature" that I don't get is what looks like a window at the bottom. I have no idea of the purpose. It is fine to have. If anyone knows what this is for. Please comment. As someone who has Had many Measuring tapes, I know where they fail . Many can't be pulled out very far at the risk of damaging the spring. I can measure the full 25 feet with this one. Another point is bending at the hook. If I was getting a tape measure to carry normally. This would not be the choice, It is a big beast and doesn't fit in a pocket. Which is a must as using th side clip is a good way to lose a tape. So yes, there are better tapes for other purposes. But this does fill a niche which others do not.. A tip for others to help "ANY" tape measure last longer which is something that I do. I open the tape measure and unwind the tape about a couple wraps. This reduces the strain on the spring and it doesn't slap as herd when it springs back. I like mine to the point where I need to push the tip in about the last inch. Just my preference. If you do take a tape apart to do this, be careful that no parts are lost, that the tape does not spring out in your face, and that you can put it back together properly.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Don't waste your money

I bought this tape just over a month ago and today at work it ripped in half. Definitely not impressed with quality. If you want a tape that will last, spend a few extra dollars and get a better one.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Not a bad tape, but no match to big names

I used to have maximum tape for 12 years (regular DIY). Very happy with it. Eventually it got broken, and I got a new one. The apparent quality is the same, but 2 of new tapes got broken on me after 2 weekends of projects. Replaced. Also, they are more or less the same tapes as 12 years ago, but comparing them with top of the line tapes that are just 30% more expensive, I noticed that those have way better finish, easier to read etc. so, imho nowadays maximu tape is a poor value in comparison with top brands

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Questions

    1 - 3 of 3 Questions

Q: I have a maximum tape measure. Can I get a replacement tape for this unit. 25 foot

    1 Answer
    • A: Is the product defective? It carries a 3-year warranty, so if it's defective and you're still in that time frame, you can get a replacement tape. However, the new model of Maximum tape measures won't be arriving in-stores until late November/early December, so a direct Maximum tape measure might not be available at your local store until then. They should be able to work with you on a reasonable alternative though.
