Heavy duty and grabs tight

I received this tool to review and was surprisingly impressed by the build quality; it feels heavy and solid in the hand. The self-adjusting design is great because you just clamp down and turn, no fiddling around. Be aware that the teeth are sharp and will crush the filter canister a bit, but it refuses to slip, even on oily surfaces. Definitely works better than my old strap wrench.

Good grip

This plier is a well made tool, easy to use, with the self adjusting feature to fit a variety of filter sizes. It provides a very strong grip, removing really tight filters with ease. One limitation I experienced was if your filter is located in a small/tight area, you may not have enough space to turn the tool/handles. I would recommend this plier. I received this tool for free to test it and provide a review.

Maximum never disappoints

I honestly didnt expect to love a pair of oil filter pliers this much, but these MAXIMUM self-adjusting ones are a game changer. The grip is solid, the jaws lock on perfectly, and it adjusts automatically without me having to fight with it. I used it on a filter that was really stuck, and this tool took it off in seconds with barely any effort. The build quality feels super durable, and the handles are comfortable to use even in tight spaces. Ive bought a few MAXIMUM products over the years, and they never disappoint, this one just confirms that. If you do your own oil changes or want a tool that makes the job way easier, this is absolutely worth picking up.

Good quality tool, but difficult to open

The build quality is good and the clamps steel is very strong. I spend however 10 minutes to figure out how to open it. The easiest way to open it is to hold the tool downwards (like in the picture), pushing up the right handle with the right hand, while exercising downward pressure with the left hand. The tool is the original position, requires the user to pull down the right handle, which was very difficult to accomplish. The self adjusting mechanism is pretty standard.
