MAXIMUM Pro Duty Storage Box with Secure Closure, 45.4-L

Great box for the back of the 4 wheeler

Just purchased this and haven't had a chance to really put it through its paces, but initial thoughts are all very positive. There's a few features that make these really stand out from other storage totes: 1. 6 sturdy latches that really hold on; no worries about these popping open unexpectedly. Latches put pressure evenly around the rim of the tote, which is important for point 2. 2. A flexible gasket runs around the edge of the lid. Not sure if these are specifically tested to be waterproof but I would 100% trust it in the rain and probably for brief immersion in an emergency. I plan to use this while canoe camping. It's certainly not a Pelican container or anything but it's miles ahead of a typical Rubbermaid tote. 3. Lid is clear polycarbonate to allow you to see inside. Very stiff and hopefully durable. Indents to stack boxes nicely, including the ability to put two 18.9L bins on top of the 45L or 75L bins (which have the same lids). 4. Holes for locks or tie downs; will once again be useful for my planned canoe camping use 5. If you unclip the latches on the short sides and one of the long sides, the latches on the other long side can pivot up while holding the lid, essentially acting as hinges (see picture). Keeps the lid off the ground when quickly accessing stuff. In general I put these halfway between a standard plastic tote and a pelican case. Pricing is also between them; more expensive than a typical tote but there's a lot that you get for it, and nowhere near the price of a pelican case. I won't be using it for sensitive electronics or photography gear or anything, but for camping gear it's hard to imagine something beating this. Closest competitor is a Rubbermaid Action Packer but these win in pricing and also win with the gasket for weather resistance. Only wish is that they came in different colors, red would feel nicely Canadian and would allow for quick differentiation when using multiple bins.
