I think its a good choice for thE average handyman

Very nice vice , it s mounted in the work shop as the old vice casting broke . Time will tell how good it is , how do you write a review if you just started to use it. Like the face that the jaws will rotate 180 Deg. There are different type of jaws to clamp with . The included soft jaws is a nice touch also ! We will see over time how this unit stands up. I think it’s a good buy!

The set screw at the side stripped like so many others so I replaced it with a regular machine screw that fit perfectly and now it locks into place. Yes I have to use a wrench instead of the sliding handle but who cares, how often do you rotate
the head around anyhow.
Couldn’t get a photo to load
You can also tighten to screws at the back of the body and they will stiffen up the swivel also.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I Been using this for a few months now and there is no comparison to an ordinary bench vice. It works great for whatever kind of job you want it for, and the flip over option is just an added bonus. Excellent product and great price too. I would recommend this to anyone or company.

Q: What''s in the box? Does it come with bolts/nuts and a manual? I ask because mine did not have anything in the box besides the vise itself, so I wonder if this was a returned item and if I'm missing something.

A: I just bought this vise on sale today. The only thing included in the box besides the vise itself, is a pair of flat soft jaws made of aluminium and rubber. It is magnetized to hold in place without screws.

Q: Is the 5-in MAXIMUM Multi-Purpose vise made of regular gray cast iron or stronger ductile cast iron? It would be even better if you could let us know what is the tensile strength of the iron from which the body of the vise is made?

A: It is made up of both ductile cast iron, and gray cast iron. The attached photo shows what each part of the vise is made of. Unfortunately, we do not have the tensile strength of the iron from what the body of the vise was made.
