Great tool for the price

Great tool at a great price! Was using a battery powered competitor brand that ran out of juice, so having the corded version meant i could keep working till the job was done. The job was demo of mosaic tiled flooring, glued to a concrete leveled subfloor over concrete. Bought the SDS bit kit and having the option for the wider blade was helpful on this one. Don't expect jack Hammer power, but for chipping it is perfect

Hello Mike
Thank you for sharing your experience and review! We greatly appreciate your honest feedback as it gives us a better understanding of where we need to improve. A hammer drill is used to drill holes into hard, dense materials like concrete, stone, brick, and block by combining a rotating action with a rapid, forceful, hammering or striking motion rather that chiseling. However, if you would like to provide us with additional feedback regarding your tool, please feel free to email us at socialmedia@positecgroup.com and we’ll be glad to assist you.

Questions

Q: It is specified "Chuck Size (in) 5/8". What that means? I thought that all SSD bits have the shank 10mm (~3/8")

1 Answer
  • A: Hello John, Thank you for your question. The chuck for this tool will fit 5/8" drilling bits. Although a 3/8 bit is one of the most common for the SDS+ system, it is not uncommon for different models to have different size chucks. The largest standard solid SDS+ bit you may see is usually around 1-1/8 inches (28mm). You can easily find 5/8" SDS-Plus bits at hardware stores and online. Thank you for choosing Maximum!

Q: The manual for this tool says that a keyed chuck adapter is required to use smooth shank masonry drill bits in this hammer drill. I cannot see any such accessory on the Canadian Tire website or in my local store. Where can I find this accessory?

1 Answer
  • A: Hi dvdrnldprsn, We recommend that you purchase your accessories from the same store that sold you the tool. Use good-quality accessories marked with a well-known brand name. Choose the type according to the work you intend to undertake. Refer to the accessory packaging for further details. Store personnel can assist you and offer advice.- HJohnson

Q: Will This Hammer drill through Concrete floor? I purchased the Master Craft 6AMP Hammer drill last week and it did nothing? More like a glorified Basic drill with a handle? TIA

1 Answer
  • A: The thickness of concrete flooring and the density of the concrete might need more impact power. A hammer drill should do something though, so if it is doing nothing there may be something wrong with it. The Maximum 0542092 will drill into concrete. The drilling capacity for concrete/masonry is 5/8”.
