Defective motor

Happy with the build quality overall. The high horsepower and 30 gallon size, in a 120V compressor is why I bought it. The motor would start, and bring the compressor up to pressure, but wouldn't restart again with any pressure in the bottle. Checked the check valve, and bleeder, which leaves it as likely a capacitor or motor issue. Returned for a new one so hoping for better luck.

Very pleased with the stability of the unit both when it's stationary and when rolling the unit around. Very happy with the sticker on the tank of the unit giving a brief rundown on the operating capacity of the compressor, what attachments and applications work well and which ones don't.
I enjoy the tall wheel base for moving it around the work site, but am leary about the plastic wheels. If there are replacement parts for the wheels that would give me the piece of mind if something did go sideways.
Overall very pleased with the unit.

Light weight and Moveable

The 30 Gallon Maximum air compressor is easy to move around the shop at any location you desire. It's light weight, wheels and durability makes it a stand out product in my books. It fills up quickly with air and its operating sound level is quite quiet. The gauges installed are durable, unlike many other plastic ones found on other compressor models. For home use or business, I highly recommend the Maximum 30 gallon compressor.

Q: motor rewire to 240 as per directions I know there is another questions about 240 V conversion, and answer was no - but the motor on the unit includes schematic diagram direction to rewire to 240 V. Can this motor be rewired to run at 240V?

A: Yes I can. Take the black plat off the back and it shows you how to rewire the plug. You will need to plug it into a 240v plug. Unfortunately you will have to rewire the plug to make it work.

A: Please contact customer service at 1-888-670-6682, and tell them you are looking for a replacement piston/cylinder kit (part number 048-0105; number 14 on the exploded view parts list in the manual). They should be able to assist from there.

Q: What *type* of 1/4 in. NPT plug fits in the default coupler? I've tried an m-type plug but it leaks a lot.

A: You need an I/M series-Industrial series. Industrial series is by far the most popular plug series on the market and available at all Canadian Tire stores (058-7975 Mastercraft Female Plug 1/4" NPT; 0587974 Mastercraft Male Plug 1/4").

Q: Whats it like for painting cars? I do mostly partial paint jobs, blow ins, etc, I do completes from time to time too tho?

A: The Maximum 30G is built to handle most spray painting projects and can run any Mastercraft or Maximum spray gun, but we always recommend you check the air requirements of the tool you are going to use and make sure it is less than or, at most, equal to the standard CFM provided by the air compressor.

Q: At what pressure does the compressor automatically kick-out, and how much pressure loss would it take to kick back in to maintain.

A: This is a 155 max PSI compressor, so that is "kick out" when the compressor stops filling. There is a 35 PSI drip before "kick in" so the compressor starts filling again at 120 PSI.
