Questions

1 - 3 of 3 Questions

Q: Does anyone know the screw specs for this handle? Mine has gone walkabout. The specs are the first step to a solution.

1 Answer
  • A: I just checked the open screws bin at a hardware store. The M6x12 fits perfectly. They had no thumb-wheel screws, so I bought a flat head M6x16 for less than a dollar. The extra 4mm length gives better purchase if a screwdriver isn't handy.

Q: replacement blades can you please write me part number for replacement blades for this 2 piece saw?both 5 and 10 inches blades comes in the original packaging.

1 Answer
  • A: We don’t carry these exact blades as individual replacement blades. However, this saw is compatible with most standard hacksaw and reciprocating saw blades. We carry 12” Mastercraft Bi-Metal Hacksaw Blades 3 packs in 3 different TPI options (teeth per inch). 057-7446, 057-7448, and 057-7449. However, the blade included with the saw is only 10” so these are 2” longer. We have a wide selection of Reciprocating Saw blades but the 6” Maximum 7/12T Wood Cutting Bi-Metal Reciprocating Saw Blades, 5pk (054-1616) would be one suggestion.

Q: how to switch to the 5" blade? The 5" blade gets a couple of cuts in plywood and then the blade pulls out. The blade doesn't look like it's in right, it is at an angle to the handle, it wobbles etc.

1 Answer
  • A: To switch the blade, unscrew the bolt on the handle, and remove the blade carefully. Insert 5” blade so that the holes meet up. Screw securely to fasten. If the blade appears to be at an angle, it is not secured correctly. Make sure to use a screwdriver to tighten the holding, as using anything else could cause the blade to be unstable.
