Great battery upgrade

Got these as extras for my drill and impact gun and the runtime on them is fantastic. Got them on sale and did the math and I couldn't even buy the individual cells for the price of the battery pack. I build my own battery packs so I know the costs involved. As such I consider them to be a great deal and I'll be getting another pair the next time I see them on sale. They charged perfectly out of the box but they did charge slowly at first, which I was happy to see as this tells me they were charged properly from factory.

Maximum 20v lithium batteries

So far so good. These batteries rarely come on any kind of sale so when I saw them for 30$ off I bought them. The power compared to the 2 amp one that came with the drill set originally is very impressive. I have waited a long time for this.

Q: What's the difference between the maximum 20v Max batteries and the maximum 20v Max X-treme batteries?

A: The batteries are both lithium-ion construction and have the same function. They will power all Maximum branded power tools. The key difference is the Ah (amp-hours). The smaller battery when fully charged holds up to 2.0Ah of charge while the larger battery holds up to 4.0Ah of charge. The larger charge capacity will power tools longer reducing time between the requirement to recharge. The larger battery capacity also is recommended for tools with greater power drain requirements such as circular saw, reciprocating saw, planer and belt sander - these are all tools that have longer contact time with the cutting surface causing more drag on the motor and greater power demand.

Q: Are the Maximum and Mastercraft batteries and chargers compatible? (ie same connectors such that I could use a Maximum battery like these with Mastercraft 20V tools)

A: No, the 2-systems are not compatible. The Maximum program is a Pro quality system and the batteries interact with the tools in a different manner.

A: These batteries can be charged with any charger that was purchased with current 20V Maximum power tools, e.g. 54-3419, 54-2512, etc. If you wish to purchase a separate battery charger it is item 54-3204.
