Good Stand for the most part

Bought this on sale along with the 12" Dual Bevel Mitre Saw. The ad said they went together and so did the sales person. I built the stand as per the instructions and only when I got to the "Mount your saw" section did the instructions states, "only for 10" Saws". I looked all over the box and paperwork thinking I had missed something. Went back to CT and talked with 2 sales ppl there. The last one said that she had bought one a few years back and had the same problem but her husband did some mods to to the stand to make it work. So I went home and made some mods and now my saw is mounted and mobile. I wouldn't recommend this to a friend without telling them what I went through. However, having the saw mounted and mobile is exactly what I wanted.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Needed some fine tuning but it works now.

Bought this to go with the Dual Bevel 10 inch compound Mitre saw. Both are Mastercraft brand, yet the stand doesn't fit with the saw. Very strange. there's an adjustable track with the bots in it. I reversed that and it works with my saw. I needed to use my own bolts to have bolts long enough to secure my saw. All said and done, there was a little hassle setting it up, but now that I've got my mitre saw mounted, it's awesome. I find the height sufficient, and it's sturdy. the balance is also nice, and it's easy to move. I'm quite pleased with this purchase.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Great buy when on sale. Sturdy enough for my tablesaw and radial saw. Purchasing another soon for the scroll saw I'm also purchasing.

Needs signifigant fine tuning to use

I found that my saw needed longer bolts and the template was too small so I was forced to enlarge the holes on the base of my saw to fit the stand, as well, no corner hangers were in place to hold the dust bag, It works well after I got it attached though. Very sturdy

No, I do not recommend this product.

georgeinmontreal states that his Mastercraft Dual-Bevel Sliding Mitre Saw did not fit this stand, my Maximum, Compound did ? Two mounting bolts were too short to use but stand adjustments were well designed to fit a range of saws. Wheel smell faded, at 5'11" I bend when sawing and for the sale price for a DIY stand I could not have made it myself for less. After reading many negative reviews I got more than I expected.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Is there any way to make this stand fit a 12" mitre saw I purchased this stand and it is what I was looking for,but when I tried to hook my 12" mitre saw to it the brackets were about 2 inches too short.

    • A: I have a 12" slider and the holes were too far apart to fit stand. I purchased a piece of plywood and mounted to stand. Before I bolted it down I installed 2" carriage bolts measured to fit saw holes. Seems to work fine.

Q: Will the Mastercraft Collapsible Mitre Saw Stand #55-6822-8 advertised on page 17 0f the recent flyer fit a 12" Mastercraft Saw - holes 16 3/4 " apart

    • A: I simply extended the holes on my saw base with a serpentine bit, 1/4-1/2 inch to fit, it was plastic, so no prob, longer bolts and it fit. Poor engineering on the stand mating base but for 50.00 its a bargain.

Q: Will this collapse flat without having to disassemble it? So it could be stored against a wall or under a table for example.

Q: can stand be collapsed & stored on end with saw mounted? May seem a silly question, but can table be collapsed with the saw mounted to it, and then the whole thing stood on end for storage?

    1 Answer
    • A: Although the stand can be transported with the saw still attached it is not recommended you store your saw attached to the stand as it might tip or fall causing damage to power tool or injury.
