Bought this on sale. Read previous mixed reviews so was a little sceptical about if it would be any good. So far reasonably impressed as it appears to do a good job at levelling our kitchen cabinets I am installing. Like other reviewers I also checked with a four foot level and everything seemed spot on.

Q: Can this be used to project lines on a ceiling? Was wondering if this unit will project a cross-hair onto a ceiling if used in manual mode?

A: You can set the laser on a fixed position and point to where ever you want. Once you choose the fixed position option, it won't be a self level anymore.

Q: does the vertical laser extend over the ground and celing or just walls

A: That all depends on where you place the laser. If you are far enough away or low enough to the ground, for example, it will cast the line along the floor and the wall. However, ultimately, the lasers comes out from the face of the unit.

A: You are lucky to see the laser at 8' in the daylight outside. I did put new batteries in, no difference.

Q: does the level provide a grid or cross, or is it just one line?

A: It does all three. Start it with the slide switch on the side. It gives you a cross. Press the button on top and you get a horizontal line only. Press it again and you get a vertical line only. One more press brings you back to the default cross.

A: Yes you can. Depending on your job, if you’re tilting the laser at a big angle (or straight up on to the ceiling), you will likely need to use the manual-leveling mode as the self-leveling mode has a limited range depending on the angle of the laser level case. If it’s in self-leveling mode and the laser won’t stop blinking, then switch to manual mode.

Q: Le niveau peut-il être simplement déposé au sol plutôt que d'utiliser la pince? Je prévois déposer le niveau au sol pour projeter une ligne verticale, est-ce possible de ne pas utiliser le support à pince? Le niveau sera-t-il stable directement au sol (son design me semble un peu arrondi)?
