The Mastercraft Air-Powered Oscillating Tool is a highly versatile device which works as a detail sander, close-quarters saw, power scraper, or grout remover. This pneumatic air tool has lightweight composite housing and delivers more power than a similar electric-powered tool. Handle exhaust allows you to direct exhaust air away from the work area while using this electric scraper. Variable speeds of 0-18,000 OPM provide optimal performance and control. A safety trigger provides greater speed regulation, while a quick-release feature allows you to easily change the accessories on the air tool. A compact head profile allows this air sander to access hard-to-reach areas. The universal adaptor works with most Mastercraft products and other brands of oscillating tool accessories. This kit includes: 3 7/16” (8.7cm) grout removal blade, 2 1/2” (6.4cm) flat saw blade, 2” (5.1cm) rigid scraper, 2” (5.1cm) rigid flush scraper, 3/8, 3/4, 1 3/8” (9.5, 19.1, 35mm) flush cutting blades, 3” (7.6cm) detail sanding base, and sandpaper (x12).

    Better than electric

    Trigger is a pain to engage. Make sure you have enough cfm from your compressor. All metal construction makes it more durable than most battery models.

    I thought I would try the air powered tool after burning out the electrical motor on a oscillating tool. This tool worked great even on my under powered compressor. Loud, but very effective.

    Great Multi-Function Tool

    Unboxing was a great experience. All parts, tool and connections were packaged together and logically separated. The tool had protection for the trigger lever to avoid damage. Instructions clear and understandable. It comes with the tool, 3 straight, 1 half circle and 1 grout cutting bit. 2 scraping and one sanding bit. Connecting and disconnecting the bits are very easy. Assembled the hose connection and added some oil as specified. All the bits worked well and for demonstration I just used a 2x4 to show them in action. The cutting bits are great for removing wood from side or in the middle i.e. a chisel action. The sanding bit worked well and could get into the area easy to do its job. The sanding is not as efficient as an orbital sander but for the detail work it does a great job. The tool is easy to use. Connected it to a 8 gallon compressor @ 3.5 CFM for 90PSI. This was enough to run the tool intermittent as indicated in the booklet. The trigger lever works great and is easy and convenient to use. Open the safety pin and press down. It is comfortable to hold. What I felt need some attention was the oil kept oozing on my hand while using it and I had to clean on a rag regularly. I only added enough oil as was specified in booklet.

    Q: What brand blades is this compatible with other than Mastercraft?

    • A: It comes with an adapter so I’ve been able to use it with the dremmel blades and some cheapo blades that I think came from Princess auto.
