incorrect information in the book compare to test unit. on the receptacle test unit there is a correct indicator, when you look in the book it says incorrect.

worst meter kit

This meter would not even properly test batteries that were supplied with the kit..Plug for lead to attach to body of meter is too shallow or lead ends are insulated too much to contact 100% of the time.making it impossible to depend in readings. Wasted dial space for 1.5 , 9 volt battery test as well as a continuity only setting .Ohm test does continuity and a voltage test from 0 up would made it simpler to use . The test pen has to be touching the hot side of anything you want to test and was incapable of telling me if a simple extension cord was alive or not .Incorrect info in the manual regarding circuit testing ..I have tried the outlet tester and seems to work but not having a miswired circuit to test the options this is suppose to detect , would have been nice if this had an alarm to it to let you know when you are trying to locate the fuse/breaker .It appears I have to return yet another untested tool ..

I like the kit, covers everything basic. Nice handy multimeter But make sure the test lead are plugged in deep enough. The blue rubber case around the multimeter prevents it going in deep enough to have good contact. Also I noticed in the manual, for the receptacle tester it says incorrect wiring, while at the same illuminated lamps it says "correct wiring" on a sticker on top of the tester itself...
