    Poor quality

While I bought this product some time ago, this weekend was the first time using it. After firing 8 nails, the head gasket blew out, quickly followed by the nose cap falling apart. Not what you would expect in any circumstances.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Terrible product

Was a Christmas gift. I used it twice, it is still practically new. It stopped working. Needs a new cylinder seal. I was told by a friend to just return it to the store. I did but they would do nothing without receipt. Apparently you cannot purchase parts(I called Mastercraft). This is an "exchange item" only. So now I have a brand new nailer that I am to throw in the garbage because you can't buy parts and they will not exchange without receipt. Who would buy an expensive tool that is only good for 3 years?

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: What are the 4 hex keys for? The kit comes with 4 hex keys but the manual doesn't seem to say for what they're used.

    • A: The Hex keys are so you can constantly retighten the bolts every couple of minutes, until they fall out and get lost permanently of course. Speaking from my personal experience.

Q: Why does this framing nailer fire two or three nails at a time. I'm having trouble with this framing nailer. It fires two or sometimes three nails at a time. Sometimes it fires only one like it should. Is there any adjustment for this problem.

    3 Answers
    • A: I had the same problem (it sounds like) with the first nailer I bought: it would double-fire quite often (maybe about 2 out of 5 times it would double-fire). I tried it in both normal-fire mode (pull the trigger to drive a nail) and bump-fire mode (keep the trigger depressed and bump the nose against the piece you are nailing): in both modes, it would sometimes double-fire. There is no adjustment to fix this: it was a defective unit. I returned the nailer, got a replacement, and it works properly.

    • A: What size of air hose are you using. If it's under 3/8 hose or a long run this could be your problem. I found out when I tried to run mine on a 50foot 1/4 inch hose. I assume you already checked your compressor output pressure? Probably needs to be close to 100psi. Your nailer Manuel will say exactly what pressure range you need. Good luck

Q: Bent nail in the firing "groove" Hit something iron and solid and shallow, maybe a plastered over strike plate on an old door frame. Thought using the bent nail like a handle / rotate would work, nail head broke off. Had this gun two months. Suggestions?
