Very effective at blocking out noise. My only problem was, as the brochure pointed out, they're not so good if you're wearing glasses. Solved that by buying safety glasses that have an elastic strap.

A: If you use noise canceling headphones and these. Yes. By themselves you’d probably hear the muffled chatter still.
