Not so great customer service
I spent an hour putting it together following the directions. Turned it on and the chuck and shaft flew out of the power head. Again following directions, called the toll free number and was instructed to take it to a authorized repair facility. (45 min. one way drive) After 3 weeks told that this brand new drill no longer had parts support and was made to drive in again, pick up the still broken new drill to return it to a Canadian Tire store. I should not have had to wait 3 weeks for this decision. Now I need to spend another 1 1/2 hours in drive time plus whatever it takes to assemble another drill press, assuming they have one of similar value.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Excellent produit. Très bon rapport qualité prix. Fiable et précis
Pros:
I was surprised by the amount of steel on it. the only plastic on it was the cover over the pulleys (doesn't need to be steel)
I am a finishing carpenter and use this drill press a lot, and still works great.
Everything on it still works great.
It has a lot of speed and power, but I usually stay within the slowest 2 speeds.
Cons:
If I were to buy another drill press, I would probably buy a bigger one because this one only plunges 3" or so.
I tried tilting the table but the bolt was stuck, and I mean stuck.
The laser on it has to be adjusted for every cut, but I never use it.
The table is small, but every drill press is that way. So I made my own table.
Yes, I recommend this product.

BON ACHAT

tres satisfait de mon achat, bonne qualitée pour son prix.a conseiler.
I bought this drill press after doing a lot of research. I am a professional engineer and enjoy a fair amount of hands on DIY, home projects, etc. I looked closely at the manufacture and design of the drill press before purchase. This drill press was a solid, well-considered machine with enough capability to accomplish the majority of my requirements. It is heavy and feels solid when being assembled, cast iron foot and bed. The motor is strong and powerful, easily adjusted for belt tension on the single pulley. However... It was not true i.e. the drill did not run true. The drill bit, at the end of a standard bit, was more than 1/8 inch out. Unfortunately, the resulting inaccuracy negates everything I have already said, which is a shame as this is a great machine for the price. The press was sent off (complete) for repair. When I spoke to the repair guy on the phone, he informed me that there was no one specific thing wrong with the press, just a lack of correct control to ensure that teh arbour and spindle were manufactured and assembled straight. So, for the lack of quality control, this entire press was scrapped. Inexcuseable - Canadian Tire - sort out this problem. When I returened to the store, they offered me another one but I refused as this appears NOT to be an isolated incident. I really wanted to buy this machine from CT but found that it did not do the job for which it was intended. If you buy one which, by chance, is true, then you are in luck, well done. But this shouldn't be pot luck, it's a drill press and should be designed properly from the start. I eventually bought a Porter Cable 15 inch Drill Press which is an extremely good machine - and so it should be at double the price! But, you get what you pay for I guess. I hope this helps.

A: Canadian Tire of course. It's for changing the speed on your drill press. There's a pulley on the inside top casing. Adjustment is for slow to fast speed.
