Would buy again if it ever breaks

I have had one for years and it has been reliable. I did add longer leads but they were inexpensive and worth it.
It has taken and survived a real beating over the years

Q: I just purchased this meter and I see the 10 Amp jack on the front has no hole for the test lead to plug into. Why is this it shows in the user manual that you can use the 10 amp jack. is the plg removable?

A: Step one - Remove the red test lead from the unit (this should allow the selector knob to turn a complete circle)
Step two - Turn the selector dial to the 10 A spot (if it won't line up with the 10 A see step one.)
Step three - Plug in the red test lead.

Q: How to use 10A terminal?

Q: 10A or 20A?
On the meter it says 20A for the DC current max, but in the item description it says 10A, and I don't see 20A fuses anywhere on the website, only 10A and 15A. Is this meter a common 10A max or is it truly capable of up to 20A?

A: The instruction booklet says the fuse can take 10A. I don't know what the exact tolerance would be, so if you go over 10A (10, 12, 14?) the fuse might blow.
In that case, just buy the replacement fuse model specified in some of the comments here.
To replace, remove the blue rubber cover then unscrew back cover.

Q: how fast is the continuity tone?
3 Answers
A: On the diode/continuity setting, my meter (052-0055-6), has a beep tone that is immediate on connecting the probe tips together. According to the manual, it will sound if the resistance being measured is less than 20 ohms.

Q: Can i test AA, AAA, C, D, and sealed lead acid batteries with this? thanks

A: Yes and no.
Basically,if you have to ask the question, then this meter is not designed for you. If all you need is a battery tester, get the "Battery Meter" recommended by Canadian Tire in their reply. The reason is that although this one can measure voltages very accurately, it cannot simulate the battery's behavior under a load. The "Battery Meter" can do that.
Ex: a battery that tests 1.3 volts without a load may react differently under load. The same battery that would continue to power a wall clock for another six months will barely last 10 minutes in a flashlight with an incandescent bulb! (extreme example to make a point...)

Q: How do I install the 9V battery that comes with the meter.
There is no indication on the product, packaging and no manual.

A: I figured it out. You need to take the rubber case/holster off first. Then you will see a screw to remove to access the 9 volt battery compartment.

A: Mine has the sound for diode check, so they must have updated the product.

Q: DC Voltage Measurements too high - dead 9V battery inside?
I'm noticing that my Multimeter is measuring voltages too high. For example, voltage from a typical AA battery is coming out as 1.75 for one, over 2.05 for another! Is all this a symptom of the 9V battery inside being dead?

A: Replace the battery and check again, if the readings are still off I would suggest the meter needs calibration (not worth the cost on this meter). There are a couple of trim pots on the circuit board - play with them at your own risk ;) You would need a fixed known precise voltage source. Suggest you Google multimeter / DMM calibration first.
